What You Will Learn In This  Eco-Mindfulness Webinar

Learn how to reverse the negative effects of modern sedentary living by discovering daily ecological mindfulness practices that you can do both sitting or walking to let go of conditioned patterns of habitual thinking and tune into the "felt presence" of your immediate experience.

This is an invitation to experience the regenerative power of sensory immersion in flow and cultivate a childlike sense of curiosity and wonder.

Here's what we will be covering:

1. From Egocentric to Ecocentric: Getting Out Of Your Head

It is now common for people living in highly developed domesticated countries to spend over 90% of their time indoors with most of those waking hours spent sitting and staring at a screen.

The combination of this sedentary way of life, the stress of our hyperconnected world and manipulative algorithms designed to trigger our most primitive emotions can leave us stuck in self-conscious loops of anxiety and overthinking.

Learn how cultivating mindful presence in your day can help you go beyond the limited thinking of egoic self-consciousness and shift to a ecocentric sense of kinship, catharsis and deep communion with the aliveness of the more-than-human world.

2. Recharging Attention And Balancing Your Nervous System

Next, this webinar will explore the physiology of stress and how today's hyperstimulating world fuelled by stress, stimulants and screens leads to nervous system imbalance where the sympathetic nervous system (the "fight, flight or freeze" response) is over-activated.

Over time, this can lead to problems with low energy, anxiety and insomnia because our autonomic nervous system gets stuck in sympathetic dominance and we aren't able to recharge effectively through full activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (the "rest and digest" relaxation response).

Learn how conscious breathing and mindfulness can help you expand your attention beyond a limited sense of self and break negative cycles of craving, aversion and restlessness.

3. The 4 Pillars of Cultivating Eco-Mindfulness

Cultivating mindful awareness involves letting go of the habitual labelling, comparison and analysis of your thinking mind so you can experience the world more through the aliveness of your senses.

We will cover the 4 pillars of practicing mindfulness in nature and how to use the practice of mindfulness to experience deeper embodiment and states of flow.

The combination of mindfulness, rhythmic breathing and ecological consciousness you will learn is a powerful way to deepen your nature connection and increase biophilia, which is the passionate love of life and all that is alive.

4. Deep Embodiment: The Art of Ecstasis, Catharsis And Communitas

The English word spirit comes from the Latin root spiritus, which means breath, spirit and life.

Spirituality is fundamentally connected to how and where we breath. When we spend more time mindfully breathing and grounding ourselves in natural places that inspire us with awe and wonder, magic happens.

Discover how to use the ancient Greek spiritual arts of Ecstasis, Catharis and Communitas to build a deeper embodied relationships with both nature and your human community.

5. Habit Design and Building A Daily Practice of Eco-Mindfulness

Did you know that close to 90% of people that learn mindfulness or meditation practices don't make it a daily practice? That means they're missing out on most of the incredible benefits of meditation!

We'll end the webinar with a lesson a quick lesson on habit design and how to make the mindfulness habit stick by integrating it into your day.

You will learn how to add these foundational mindful awareness practices to your busy lifestyle by building meaningful and structured daily habits.

He taught his first forest meditation workshop in 2016 in Vancouver's Stanley Park and since then he has regularly lead workshops and retreats teaching ecotherapy, foraging and eco-mindfulness practices.

He has been practicing meditation for twenty years and teaching visualization, breathwork and meditation to busy tech and creative professionals for the last 7 years through his design-it-yourself education company DIY Genius.
