What You Will Learn In This Live Breath Ecology Workshop

Breath ecology involves using visualization, breathwork and meditation practices to let go of conditioned patterns of habitual thinking and tune into the "felt presence" of your immediate experience.

This way you can heighten your sensory experience and perceive the world with a fresh sense of curiosity and wonder.

This live online workshop will guide you through the process of building daily rituals for deep nature connection using breath ecology practices.

1. The Shallow Breathing Epidemic

It is now common for people living in highly developed countries to spend 95% of their time indoors with most waking hours spent sitting and staring at a screen.

The combination of this sedentary lifestyle, high stress levels and highly-processed foods in our diet leads to chronic patterns of shallow breathing.

Learn why proper nasal and abdominal breathing is crucial for long-term health and vitality and how today's global ecological crisis is rooted in the sedentary modern way of life, which has severed a sense of deep connection with the land and kinship with the more-than-human world.

2. Mindfulness, Ecological Awareness And Biophilia

Mindful awareness involves letting go of the habitual labelling, comparison and analysis of your thinking mind so you can experience the world more through the aliveness of your senses.

We will cover the 3 pillars of practicing mindfulness and how to connect your mindfulness practice with heartfelt, embodied awareness in the natural world.

The combination of mindfulness and ecological awareness is a powerful way to deepen your nature connection and increase biophilia, which is a passionate love of life and all that is alive.

3. The Physiology of Stress And Relaxation

Today's hyperconnected world fuelled by stress, stimulants and screens can lead to an imbalanced nervous system where the sympathetic nervous system (the "fight, flight or freeze" response) is over-activated.

Over time, this can lead to problems with depression, anxiety and insomnia because our autonomic nervous system gets stuck in sympathetic dominance (the stress response) and we aren't able to recharge effectively through full activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (the "rest and digest" response).

Conscious breathing practices allow us to slow the wandering mind down, focus our attention on what's most important in life and fully activate our parasympathetic relaxation response so we can relax, recharge and sleep deeply.

4. The 4 Foundational Breathing Practice For Deep Nature Connection

The English word spirit comes from the Latin root spiritus, which means breath, spirit and life.

Spirituality is fundamentally connected to how and where we breath. When we spend more time mindfully breathing and grounding ourselves in natural places that inspire us with awe and wonder, magic happens.

In the workshop, you will be guided through the practice of 4 foundational breathing practices for letting go of compulsive thinking so you can tune into your senses and the "felt presence" of your immediate experience.

We will cover foundational practices of breath awareness, rhythmic breathing, embodied breathing and immersive awareness.

5. Create Daily Rituals For Improved Health And Vitality

The practice of visualization, breathwork and meditation help us clear our minds and hit the reset button in our busy lives.

The incredible benefits of meditation and mindful awareness grow over time and deepen through consistent practice. That's why we'll end with a quick lesson on habit design.

You will learn how to add these foundational breathing practices to your busy lifestyle by building meaningful and structured daily rituals so you can do them consistently.

Enjoy the long-term benefits of consistent practice and make your breath embodiment practice fun and playful by doing it outside to cultivate deep nature connection.

The Benefits Of Breath Ecology:

Conscious breathing and embodied nature connection practices are a powerful antidote to the high levels of stress, anxiety and burnout of 21st century life.

This live workshop experience connecting breath and ecology will help you to:

✅ Live a more active lifestyle and spend more time mindfully breathing in nature to reverse the negative effects of sedentary living.

✅ Develop your mindfulness practice, expand your ecological awareness and grow your passionate love of the natural world.

✅ Use the breathing practices anytime and anywhere to ground yourself and breath away stress and anxiety.

✅ Learn the physiology of activating the relaxation response and how to improve your habits of relaxation, resting and recharging.

✅ Develop a deeper kinship with the plants, trees, fungi, birds and animals in your local ecosystem by going beyond conceptual thinking into embodied presence.

✅ Build daily rituals so you can consistently use these breathing practices both indoors and outdoors to feel more relaxed and grounded in your body.

As a bonus, you will also learn how to track how rested and recharged your body is each morning by measuring your heart rate variability (HRV).
